Yolanda Lacray Redd
(July 20, 1957 - March 2, 2009)

Yolanda Lacray Redd, 51, of King Avenue, Waynesboro, Virginia, passed away suddenly 2 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2009, at her residence.

She was born July 20, 1957, the daughter of Nannie Leona Redd and the late Samuel Isaiah Redd.

She had a degree in computer science from Mary Baldwin College and due to disability retired as a computer support engineer. She was a Waynesboro High School graduate and a member of the Jehovah Witness Church on Cattle Scale Road.

Surviving relatives include her mother, Mrs. Nannie L. Redd; two sons, Corey L. Redd and Corbin L. Redd, both of Waynesboro, Virginia; three daughters, Candace Wood of Waynesboro, Virginia, Erica Mae Scott and her husband, Anthony, of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Christina Lee Kilgore of Waynesboro, Virginia; three brothers, John A. Redd of Waynesboro, Virginia, Michael S. Redd and Charles Maurice Redd, both of Pittsburg, California; one sister, Valerie K. Redd of Waynesboro, Virginia; three special cousins, Sharry Martinez of Columbia, Georgia, Donna Redd of Waynesboro, Virginia and Darryl Fitch of Yuma, Arizona; four grandchildren, Corbin K. Redd of Charlottesville, Virginia, Jasmine O. Sharpe of Virginia Beach, Virginia, D'ante S. Gray of Waynesboro, Virginia, and Aniyah S. Scott of Charlottesville, Virginia; many aunts, uncles and friends.

A memorial service officiated by Elder Gene Wells will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday March 8, 2009 at the Jehovah's Witnesses Church on Cattle Scale Road. The family will receive friends at the church, following the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to her mother, 17 Marwood Lane, Waynesboro, Virginia 22980.

The Lewis Funeral Home has been entrusted with the service.
